My dad, Navy Hospitalman, Corpsman David A. Acton was killed in Quang Tri Province on July 5 1967 around 7am during heavy enemy mortar fire. He was assigned to Co. F. 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division (Rein), FMF. I would like to talk to someone who eather served with him or knew him. I never had the chance to know him, but a part of him will always be with me. I need to know that he was not alone when he was killed, and that someone gave a damn. My heart wont rest until I know more about what he went through, and to know the truth. I have all of his letters from Nam he didn"t really talk much about anything but his love for mom and us kids. I want to know him. Or someone that went through some of the same trials. This is my wish, This has been all I"ve known for 30 yrs, PLEASE help me to find some kind of peace with this. Im going to the wall for the first time this year. I plan on being at the wall the 24th thru the 27th of May. Please, to honor all thoes who paid the maximum price to include my father honor my last line here. " No phonies need respond to this message". My heart will always will be with the guys who served in Vietnam. Part of me will be there forever!

Anyone in Viet Nam (Tay Ninh) from 11-69 to 11-70 email me. Would like to get in touch with some of the people I served with especially Billy Johnson (Jonesboro, TN) and Byron Brewer (Texarkana, AR). Lost touch with them, and would like to resume contact if possible. We lost Willie Wilbanks and Earl Tidwell in a firefight on 2-14. They were 2 of the 8 we lost that day alone. Think of them often.
