John Steven Anderson CW2 11-4-69
. . Contributed By NitaOn 11/15/97:
I have been visiting this site for some time now. In 1969 I ordered and recieved a POW/MIA bracelet with John's name, I wore it until 1975 and never heard if he had made it home. Recently I found the Vietnam Memorial Wall on the internet and found his name, I cried when I saw it. He has been on my mind and in my heart all these years.I started a search for his family to let them know that I had been praying for their son. It just took me 2 weeks to locate his father. Thank God for computers. I think I sent e-mail to everyone that had a e-mail address in the town that John was from. There were 4 possible men that could have been his dad,I wrote them all the same basic letter. I got a response from one, and it was John's dad. Bless his heart, his wife is in the hospital with brain cancer and not expected to live, and he took time out to write me. He is more than willing to share memories and information about his son. You all are very special people and I thank you for all you have done. God Bless You.

I'm hoping to find someone who might have served with my best friend. He was killed May 5, 1968 near Ahn Khe. He was an RTO serving with A co. 50th inf. 173 AirBorn Brigade. We never heard from any of his officers or friends in his platoon and have been told that they were all killed. The only name of a friend he ever mentioned in his letters was a Gary Galand(not sure of the spelling). I would love to hear from anyone whop might have met or known him. He was an only child and his aging parents would like to know more about what happened. I thank all of you for what you did in Viet Nam for all of us. You have been and will continue to be my heroes. I will never forget your sacrifices or be unaware of the hell that many of you came home to. You are the best.
