Thank you for your sacrifice . . Contributed By roy lee thornhillOn 11/07/97: I thank all vietnam vets for all you have done. maybe the goverment was against you, but i think that you all were very brave and loyal to your country. i was under age while we were in vietnam and buy the time i was 18 we were out of southeast aisa all together. my father in the army for 2 or 3terms, but was killed while home on leave during christmas, his name was leroy thornhill. i was 6 when he was killed and so i found an uncureable need to learn all i could about vietnam. one thing i learned was that day after day american soldiers put there lifes on the line and lost, when i know that the power of the us military could have finished that mess off in record time if allowed. as i got older i realized that the american people turned thier back on the "war" and now its been over 20 yrs and they still dont teach it in history class as much as they teach about the aztecs or king tut. i have spent as much time as i can telling my kids about vietnam and the things that i learned through my own studies so that they will know what it was, as best as possable, like to be there.i really do thank you all and all the familys of the fallin vets. i have info about my father leroy thornhill in an entry below, i never realy knew him and i need to close this part of my life so if anyone knew him please help me close this. again thank you |
