Bob (Robert Alan) Malewski, 11th Cav, Blackhorse
. . Contributed By Sherri BeausoleilOn 07/11/97:
I am the proud daughter of Bob Malewski, a gas truck driver in the 11 Cav'.Although my father seems to protect me from the reality of the Vietnam war, thoughts of him and all those who served are constantly on my mind.I can't comprehend not having my father (now grandfather) in my life.It is for this reason that my heart aches for those of you who live without your loved ones in your lives. To all those served in the Vietnam War -- Without even knowing your name, I think of you, I care for you, I feel you with me each day.My pride - and love - knows no boundaries for every one of you.Thank you.

educator wanting to raise awareness

I am an 8th grade social studies teacher who is planning on taking my 8th grade students to D.C. this year.As the Wall Memorial has touched me in a special way, I would like to provide my students with a similar experience.I am looking for suggestions on how to make their visit to the Memorial a significant one.I would like to try to have students become familiar with different individuals whose names are on the Wall, and conclude with the students finding "their" soldier on the Wall.I am looking for suggestions on how to research individuals and at the same time not invade on personal space or be in any way disrespectful to someone's family or memory.Could someone please respond with any suggestions you might have on how to make my students visit to the Wall one they will remember and respect. This memorial carries an awesome potential to send a variety of messages to a variety of people. any help would be greatly appreciated.
